Wesley Cottage

Wesley Cottage is the former home of Digory and Elizabeth Isbell, they entertained John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, on his visits to Cornwall in the mid 18th century. Two extra rooms were built onto the cottage for the use of Mr Wesley and his preachers.

By the late 1940's the cottage had fallen into disrepair and purchased, renovated, and opened as a Methodist museum and place of Pilgrimage on 24th May 1950. Many interesting items of Wesleyana are contained in the cottage which is also believed the smallest methodist preaching place in the world.
