The White Horse Inn
is situated at Newport in the ancient market town
of Launceston on the Devon / Cornwall
border. The sign of the
White Horse Inn was adopted in 1714 (Robbin's
history of Launceston) stating that the sign was
taken by the Inn at Newport at the commencement of
the Hanoverian dynasty, about 1714. The house was
built in 1690 originally as a farmhouse until it
acquired its license and became an inn. The
outbuildings and stables stand around the original
farmyard. |
