Launceston Steam Railway

The Launceston Steam Railway links the historic Cornish town of Launceston with the hamlet of Newmills. Trains are hauled by steam locomotives built to a famous design by the Hunslet Engineering Company in the late 1800's. Tickets are valid all day, so you can have as many rides as you like, or break your journey for a picnic, walk or visit to the riverside Farm Park (separate admission charge) at Newmills. At Launceston Station there is a Museum, Cafe, and well stocked shop and bookshop. Also at Launceston are the remains of an Augustinian Priory, which can be viewed by railway visitors.
