Interesting Facts about Launceston

Launceston was granted a Royal Charter in the time of Robert, Count de Mortain who was the half brother of William the Conqueror. This Charter gave Launceston the right to be the Capital of Cornwall and this is shown in Launceston' Motto Royale et Loyale.
